Avernus is an independently operated live action role-playing (LARP) network, set in the original White Wolf World of Darkness™ prior to the Time of Thin Blood (the Gangrel are still in the Camarilla and the Assamites are out).

We use Laws of the Night Revised and other MET 2nd Edition Mechanic. We will NOT be transitioning to WoD 2.0 currently being referred to as: Vampire: The Requiem nor will be using megaplot "post-Week of Nightmares." Please refer to our House Rules and Errata for any clarifications to mechanic you plan use in play.

CHARACTER CREATION PROCESS:
Choose Clan (add Advantages and Disadvantages as applicable from LotN) - see list of restricted clans
Choose Nature & Demeanor (playing nature affords you one possible point of Will recovery per night)
Prioritize Attributes (7/5/3) - See Table
Choose Traits (Attributes):
  Choose 5 Abilities
  Choose 3 Disciplines (+1 for Sabbat). Note: you must have a iminimum one level of all 3 of your inclan disciplines before you can take an out of clan otherwise your character will be a Caitiff.
 

Choose 5 Backgrounds (Sabbat neonates get no Backrounds but receive instead 1 basic in-clan discipline)
Note Blood & Willpower start/max- See Table

Note your Virutes:

  7points to distribute between Courage, Conscience/Conviction and Self-Control/Instinct Virtues (to a max of 5 in each). You receive 1pt. free in Courage, Conscience and Self-Control on Humanity. If you are on a Path of Enlightenment (Road for Dark Ages characters), lose the free point in all but Courage. Your Morality Rating is your Self-Control/Instinct and Conscience/Conviction, averaged rounded up. Note this number along with your Morality.
Assign 1 Status Trait (for your sect and one for clan):
  "Acknowledged" for Camarilla
  "Initiated" is a given, select Proven as a base for Sabbat members
  "Branded"much be purchased for for Black Hand in addition to the free "Initiated" and "Proven"
Optionally, Pick 0-5 Negative Traits and receive +1 freebee point for each
Optional: Pick 1 Derangement or lose a virtue = +2 freebies (Maximum Derangements 1 -- Malkavians: +1 extra Derangement)
Optional: Select Merits & Flaws at cost (Max. 7 each)
Max. Starting Disipline: basic (freebies gives you higher). Tremere Thaumaturgists must start with Path of Blood and Rite of Introduction ritual.
Distribute 20 -and- any additional Freebee points based on generation from Gen Lotto. Contact ST for generation.
